Houwitser, the well-known dutch death-metal horde, is back on track! Original members Michel (guitars) and Stan (vocals), joined forces with Ramon (bass), Richard (guitars) and Marco (drums; ex-Altar/ex-Ordo Draconis).

The music of Houwitser is still a combination of thrash, grind and death metal. Absolutely no trendy shit here, just brutal, aggressive and fast music. Ready to blow your ears off!

Houwitser originally started in 1997. Michel (ex-Sinister) and Aad (Sinister) first wrote a bunch of songs together, before completing the line-up with singer Mike (ex~Sinister) and bass-player Theo (Hail of Bullets).

After a couple of rehearsal sessions with the complete line-up they decided to record some promo songs. Houwitser recorded 6 songs on only 4 tracks in one night.

The debut CD 'Death but not buried' was released by Displeased Records in the spring of 1999 and got great reviews and good sales till now. After some extensive touring through the Benelux, Houwitser parted with their singer Mike and found an excellent replacement in Arjaan "Djortz" Kampman. Soon they recorded the second album "Embrace Damnation" and did even more gigs in the Benelux and Germany. Then Arjaan decided to leave the band, but again Houwitser found another great singer in Stan Blonk. Houwitser entered the famous Excess Studio’s in Rotterdam in the summer of 2001 to record the third album "Rage inside the womb". The album also got terrific reviews in magazines worldwide and Houwitser toured through the entire European continent during the summer of 2002.

In 2004, after the release of Houwitsers last cd "Damage assessement" the band split up. Displeased Records re-released the debut album "Death but not buried" with 7 bonus tracks and new artwork.

But the split up left a bad vibe with Michel and Stan. They decided Houwitser had to rise up from the ashes. Soon they found a second guitarist, Richard Gielen. Unfortunately Theo (Hail of Bullets) didn't have the time to join Houwitser again but another bassplayer was found quickly in Ramon Ploeg. The difficult part was finding the right drummer, but they did find the perfect Houwitser drummer, Marco de Groot, who played in other well-known Dutch metalbands like Altar, Ordo Draconis and Blind Justice.

Now, in 2009, Houwitser is back with their new promo-cd ‘Sledgehammer Redemption’.   The mighty Terror Legion is back to strike again! They march the stages again to ripp off your ears with their thundering deathmetal. So watch out for Houwitser! The Terror Legion is heavier and more brutal than ever! Stay tuned for the Trip of Fire!

KhaoZ

The uprising of KhaoZ started at the end of 2008.Members from several bands joined forces and went back to the roots of Death Metal. On their path to reach the essence they picked up some other victims from the Dutch underground scene. At the beginning of 2009 the band crawled through the archives of old school Death Metal and within a month they wrote 5 songs for their upcoming mcd ....Shattered Light Insanity.... Musickly they all grew up in a time where bands like Bolt Thrower, Entombed, Death, Morbid Angel etc. reigned the upcoming Death Metal scene. So the songs, written in the veign of those masters, have the original vibe of the 90..s but the band didn..t forget to translate them to the nowadays standard.Playing in bands like Houwitser, Pleurisy, The Embodiment, Sinister and Dead Head the members of KhaoZ know how to reach their goal.At this very moment the band started the recordings at the Drum Time and Wings of Death studio..s. For the mixing and mastering KhaoZ decided to choose Harris Johns ( Kreator, Pestilence, Immolation etc.).Their first video clip will be made for the song ....Only to the Worm.... and will be produced by Funeral Productions.

Xtreme Old School Metal to the Max!

Line up:

Kudra Mata

“The songs pound merciless and deafening like there’s no tomorrow.”

The long-awaited new release is here..."Legacy Of Persistence"

Kudra Mata is rising fast. After forming a solid line-up in early 2006 and releasing a strong-as-iron 3 track CD “This Is My Pledge” that same year the time had come to blow away the scene in Holland. And successfully so!

The band played numerous shows throughout the country with tours like “Het Noorden Is Gestoord” and “Spit Your Rage”, opened for bands such as Walls Of Jericho, Caliban, Born From Pain and Sworn Enemy, was nominated for the SENA PopNL Award in 2008 and rocked the ‘Melkweg’ in Amsterdam to it’s core.

Also that year at the bevrijdingsfestival (“Freedom-Festival”) in Zwolle one could witness this well oiled metal machine and Germany and Poland got to suffer the ferocity of their raw and brutal music as well. All this resulting in gaining a household name in the The Netherlands, a fast growing fanbase and their notorious live reputation

With the new record on hand, which was mixed by Michiel Toenink (Sick Of It All, Napalm Death) and mastered by Göran Finnberg (In Flames, The Haunted), this energetic foursome proves they definitely established themselves within the top of the Dutch metal scene.

Keeping the band's ambitions in mind, Europe can ready itself for Dutch Premium Metal, right in your face! Nothing more, but they certainly won’t do it for less. Period

Kudra Mata played with :

Walls of Jericho, Caliban, Entombed, Sworn Enemy, Textures, Volbeat, Born From Pain, Destruction, Maroon, As We Fight, Peter Pan Speedrock, Belphegor, Delain, Dark Funeral, Electric Eel Sock, Length Of Time, Cataract, Leng Tch'e and a lot more awesome bands .

Mortal Form

Mortal Form is melodic thrash death five piece from Holland. Since 1999 Mortal Form released two demo`s (“Xplore” & “The End of Times”) and once recorded 10 songs for their debut “Evil Reborn” which was due to come out somewehere around 2003/2004. The only thing that actually came out was a 3-track promo for "Evil Reborn". Due to several line up changes, and the fact that songwriting deliverd Mortal Form better songs and a more authentic sound, Mortal Form decided not to release "Evil Reborn". Mortal Form continued the songwriting and took some time to search for a good and steady line up. After having found a renewed synthesis between the band members and completed writing 10 great melodic thrash death songs it was time for Mortal Form to hit the studio. Now it`s actually 2008 and the result of their hard work lies in front of you!

FACTS:

2005: Bass player Oscar and vocalist Rogier joined the band and Mortal Form started on studying songs with the new recruits. Mortal Form also spent time on writing new material. We also played a few live gigs at the end of 2005.

2006: This was a busy year for Mortal Form. They played a lot of shows this year. Mortal Form also spent lots of time in making the new songs better, more intense and fucking thrashy of course.  Mortal Form started noticing that songwrtiting works best if they work on the songs as a band. Amazing things have evolved in the rehearsel room.

2007: Mortal Form  worked their asses of to get 10 songs good enough for a new album. We decided to record them. But only under our circumstances. This ment two different studio`s, two different locations and two different producers and engineers. We recorded the drums for “Taste the Blood” at the Marmer Studio`s @ Didam (hol) engineerd by Martin Memelink. The guitars and the bass were recorded at the Snowstar Studio`s @ Panningen (Hol) produced by Nico van Montfoort (XPZ Sound, known from Tenement Kids, Antillectual and many others). The vocals also were recoreded ath the Marmer Studio`s. Mixing and mastering was done by Nico van Montfoort again.

2008: MORTAL FORM IS SEARCHING FOR A RECORD LABEL!!

In the past ten years of MORTAL FORM`s excistence the band has played truck loads of gigs in and outside of Holland with bands as Warhammer, Pentcale, Callenish Circle (RIP), Pungent Stench (RIP), Detonation, Tankard, Guerilla, Jack Slater and many many others.

DUTCH DEATH THRASHERS

Please let us introduce to you this new metal outfit from the ever growing
metal scene from the land of the windmills, cheese, clogs and flowers. The
time has come now to unleash MURDER MANIFEST to mankind!

In the winter of 2007/2008 some hard-working musicians of the Dutch metal
scene formed a new powerful, kick-ass death thrash attack named MURDER
MANIFEST.The band consists of ex-members of Escadron, Unauthorized and
Instil.

In the first months of 2008 Murder Manifest will record eight new songs
with the rawness and ferocity of Bay Area bands like Exodus, Testament,
Forbidden combined with the distinctly scandinavian bands like Hatesphere,
Opeth, At the Gates and the death hooks of metal veterans of Morbid Angel,
Decapitated and Aborted. One of the reasons to start the is band is to
bring back aggression and energy back into the European death thrash
scene.

"Mental Surgery" leaves you feeling like you've been left in a concrete
mixer overnight. Although the album has only eight songs, each of them
encase strong structures, melodies and a mountainous amount of insanity
that will leave you temporarily blind.." 18/20 pt by Spirit of Metal

"Mental Surgery is one of the best metal albums in 2008" by Death metal mag.

"Murder Manifest debutes in an impressive manner with their short but
powerful "Mental Surgery". Aardschok mag.

Oceans Of Sadness (BE)

Oceans of Sadness from Belgium, started back in 1995 and at first drew inspiration from bands such as Type O Negative, Amorphis and Paradise Lost. Within five months of starting the band the first demo "Forgotten Symphony I" got released and this tape immediately became the "demo of the month" in Aardschok – the professional music journal of the Netherlands. At the time, the main ambition was to create slow atmospheric and ultra deep songs – much like those of the bands that inspired Oceans of Sadness. But the songs already had a face of their own and a recognizable sound that you still can identify in the more recent works. In 1999 the young act surprised everyone by winning the Metal Bash Award – a talent competition for Belgian and Dutch bands, organized by Aardschok – which very much helped the band to a larger audience with performances on Dynamo Open Air, "Aardschokdag" and on Biebob Metalfest amongst others. Two years and some demo’s later Oceans Of Sadness signed a two-album-deal with Belgian LSP records and soon after that the debut album "For We Are" was released. Graspop Metal Meeting noticed the intense live presentation of the band, and invited Oceans Of Sadness for the first time on their esteemed festival.

Second album, "Laughing Tears, Crying Smile" was released in 2002, bringing the band to quite a higher level of musicianship. The album got good reviews worldwide but distribution failed as it was only released in Belgium and the Netherlands. In support of their second album the band opened up for Within Temptation and Dimmu Borgir and played lots of shows all over Belgium and The Netherlands. With this album the band also released their first video for a song called “So Close” and it got played on several networks in Europe like TMF and MTV2.

The third album, called "Send In The Clowns", was recorded and released in 2004 by Apache Productions. "Clowns" was a bright musical epos, full of different genres varying from non-metal (classical, jazz, flamenco) over the very best out of the different metal genres (death, black). The album was received very well and the band teamed up with Epica, the orchestral Dutch band, as they joined them on tour in Portugal and Spain. Sadly enough Tijs (vocals) suffered from a collapsing lung twice in a short period of time and the band was forced to slow things down a bit until he was recovered and back for action. Meanwhile the band never stopped writing songs and working on their act.

In 2006 Oceans of Sadness came in contact with producer Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Amon Amarth) of Fascination Street Studios in Sweden. Once the upcoming album "Mirror Palace” was recorded at the Motormusic Studio (Lint, BE) the band went to Sweden where the album was mixed by Jens. The band signed a worldwide deal with Scarlet Records who released the album in April 2007. This album takes a couple more steps on the experimental path that Oceans of Sadness has been on for quite some time and the end result is just as interesting to fans of extreme metal such as Cradle of Filth and Opeth as it is to fans of more melodic rock acts like System of a Down or Alice in Chains. The album got raving reviews all over and it even made it into several list for ‘best album of 2007’. The band recorded another video to promote this album and focussed entirely on the internet with this video and was posted on many websites and forums. The amazing result was that it got watched over a 100000 times up to date! The band was again invited for the Graspop Metal Meeting (for the 4th time!) where they headlined the Metal Dome Stage on the main day of the fest. The band also did their first tour in Italy and did many shows in The Netherlands as well as their home country Belgium.

After the “MP” album things started rolling for the band and they got more focussed but also relaxed than ever. They immediately started writing new songs and merely a year after they released “MP” they again flew to Sweden, this time to work on a full “Jens Bogren-production” at Fascination Street. As the band has always been about making dreams come true they decided to invite some guests: their “long-time” idol Johan Liiva (ex-Arch Enemy, Hearse) and Annlouice Loegdlund, vocalist of a befriended Swedish band Diablo Swing Orchestra. Anders Nordström, Jens’s partner at the studio and by this time a close friend of the band also joined in on a song. The album got the prestigious name “The Arrogance Of Ignorance” and the band invited the Greek artist Seth Siro (Paradise Lost, Oceansize, Moonspell) to handle the artwork as the band only wanted the best for this release on each level. Lyrically the album is about questioning things in life and the difficult quest of finding your own opinion. Nothing can be taken for granted as all is in the hands of nature and we can only do what we think that is best.

“The Arrogance Of Ignorance”, released late September 2008 by Scarlet Records, clearly is the synthesis of years of hard work and fine-tuning the sound of Oceans Of Sadness and if the press had difficulties with labelling their music in the past... well... prepare for this diverse metal madness, it might even set some new standards in metal music. Listen to this album as you would taste a fine wine... take your time and focus on every aspect of what you hear. Experience how these songs become richer with each listening until they are like a second skin.

Persistense

History

Persistense, fusion of the words ‘to persist’ and ‘intense’ was founded in the year 2000 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands.

Stefan (vocals), Patrick (guitars), Conrad (guitars), Frank (bass) and Paul (drums) decided to start a band and write their own songs. Their music was firmly rooted in thrash metal with a lot of groove and later on they called it ‘swingthrash’.

Working hard resulted in playing a lot of shows as well as the release of their first EP. Six explosive songs were the result with lots of positive reviews in the press.

Due to continuing line-up struggles Persistense falls apart at the end of 2005.

New beginning

Determined to keep Persistense alive Stefan began his search for some new musicians. Almost two years and a lot of auditions and line-up changes later he finally brought together some musicians who share the same passion for making metal and willing to take Persistense to the next level.

With the new line-up the musical direction changed from ‘swingthrash’ to a more powerful, dynamic and diverse kind of metal. Influences come from different styles of metal and one of the main goals is to see a song as a song; A decent structure, meaningful lyrics and most of all, a song has to be recognizable.

With this in mind Persistense started writing new songs which resulted in the recording of the 2008 Promo.

With the new promo Persistense is ready again to climb and wreck stages all over the Netherlands.

Live

In the past six years Stefan managed to arrange more than 50 gigs for Persistense. Persistense played with Devious, Dead by Dawn, Xystus, Demia and many others.

Recently they played with Pleurisy, The Dying and Mythlorian.

They also did a small tour together with Dimension 7 in their Infinite Madness tour.

Future

Continuing playing live and writing new material Persistense is ready for the next step. With the new promo they’ll try to get some label interest for the recording of their first full length.

Main goal however, is to keep the band together, play a lot of shows and have as much fun as in the past year.

At this point, the future is looking bright for Persistense !!!

See My Solution

Puzzles Like You- See My Solution's debut album.Based in Zwolle, the band has existed in it's present form since 2003.After positively recieved demos and promos- such as " Refreshing the Darkside" from 2003- and shows throughout the country, this full-length album was not only a logical next step, but also an absolute necessity.

Recording took place in Spring 2007 and the result has become a strong, eight-track album that can be described as loud, melodic, catchy and above all, accessible. The songs are drenched with fat riffs, shifting to beautiful melodies, grunts, screams, clean singing and sometimes even head-on three-vocal-attacks.See My Solution will not let themselves be labeled, they'll leave that to the listener.

For recording the band sought a suitable studio. After a show with Textures, the band came in contact with Jochem Jacobs of Split Second Sound. That marked the beginnning of a fruitful collaboration. The See My Solution hired the company's mobile studio and independently recorded the album in The Newland Basement in Wezep.Mixing and mastering were done by Jochem and his companion Bouke Visser in their studio in Tilburg.

See My Solution has regained a good reputation in the area around Zwolle and are known for their energetic live shows. The goal now is to spread the name of the band through the rest of Holland and make Zwolle famous as
" metalcity " as well as " hiphopcity".

Seven Ends

Seven Ends Presents:
A true story

Winter 2007
After the split of thrash-formation Blacklist, guitarist Carta and vocalist Jan where not finished conquering the world. This being the birth of a still nameless thrash/death metal band, starting the quest for more band members. Right from that moment they contacted an old friend Cor for the drums, at the time still playing in the hardCORe formation Anger Alliance. Still the quest for more allies continuous.

Early 2008
Almost completing the band, Noud (ex Blood Drenched) joined on bass. Having some difficulties finding a second guitar player, the band, though not complete, started to prepare for battle. Seven Ends is how they will be known from then on.

Later that year
Out of the blue they found their last ally, Tim (ex Destroyer of Senses) to play the second guitar. Now being ready for battle, they needed a weapon. They recorded a four track demo partially at the Panzer studio and partially at The Pit studio.

April 2009
After doing a try out gig it was time to use the new weapon for the first time. April 4th Pitch Black Niederkruchten (D) is where the self titled demo was released at the Torture metal battle. Winning this first battle, they earned a support show for the Brazilian death metal band Torture Squad 2 weeks later. Reactions on both shows and demo where absolutely positive.

Late 2009
After about a year Seven Ends & Tim parted ways. After a brief search, Seven Ends welcomed Leon as their new guitar player.

Seven Ends is currently still trying to conquer the world with their aggressive mixture of thrash and death metal. If you haven't seen them before: beware!!

Supreme Pain

Supreme Pain started in summer 2006 when Erwin, Aad ( vocalist of Sinister and Infinite Hate) and Robi ( from Slovenian deathmetallers Scaffold) joined forces to create death metal with the sick, fast blasting brutality of today combined with the old school feeling. After a couple of rehearsals we decided to record a promo CD titled LIFELESS SKIN AND BONES.
This promo was recorded and released in December 2006.

This resulted in a deal with U.S Comatose Music owned by Steve Green ( Lust Of Decay and Atrocious Abnormality).Supreme Pain started to work on songs for the full length CD entitled CADAVER PLEASURES.During this we were joined by guitarist Bas Brussaard ( Fondlecorpse). It was the intention that he would only play a couple of solo's but it worked out so great that he became permanent member of the Supreme Pain family. The drums were recorded in Negligence Sound Studios in Slovenia and all guitars and vocals were recorded at the Garden Shed Of Horror Studio in The Netherlands.Mixing took place at the Excess Studio in The Netherlands and the mastering was done at Sound Lab Studios in the U.S.The result is crushing and mindblowing!!!! This death metal piece of brutality was released on 15th of April 2008.Pure brutal death metal sickness is unleashed.A few months after the release drummer Robert Kovacic was replaced by Toep Duin ( Putrefied,Blastcorps and many more),Robi did not commit himself to the supreme brutality so replacement was the only option. And Tadej Cholewa ( Scaffold) became the bass player.

Recently Supreme Pain signed a contract with Metal Age Productions from Slovakia to release the second full length CD.We have just finished recordings at The Soundlodge Studio in Germany with producer Jorg Uken ( Sinister, Dew-Scented, God Dethroned) for the second full length CD : NEMESIS ENFORCER,

Expect brutal sick blasting death metal with the old school groove!!!!

The Dying (BE)

The Dying is a five piece metalcore outfit ,hailing from the nord-east part of Belgium called Limburg. The band started in the year 2000 under the name CHIMAERA.Twelve months later they recorded a self titled demo CD.The demo got nice reactions and the band started to play more and more shows.

In 2003 Chimaera's hard work was finally rewarded. The band made a record deal with Genet Records to release their first full length album " Passion Sets The Killing".The album was a blast and got good reactions all over Europe. The past two years, more than 2000 copies of this record were sold.Because of their excellent live reputation Chimaera kept playing shows like crazy.A short tour with Darkest Hour, and a handful of minitours in the UK and a tour of ten days through East-Europe transformed Chimaera into a well oiled killing machine. In 2005 Chimaera even played at the famous Graspop Metal Meeting and Pukkelpop, two of the biggest open air festivals in Belgium! Chimaera was also support-act for bands like: Avenged Sevenfold, Himsa, 3 Inches Of Blood and The Black Dahlia Murder.

During the months march, april and may of that same year,Chimaera did the recordings of their second full album called " Stygian".The expectations for this new record were huge. That's why Chimaera decided to work with a producer.Xavier Carion, the former riffmeister of Belgium's heaviest and most succesfull band in history "Channel Zero',was the chosen one.Chimaera also realised that the album, once it was recorded, had to get properly mixed and mastered.Therefor they went to the famous Fredman Studio in Gotenborg ( Sweden) where Frederik Nordstrom( Dimmu Borgir,In Flames,Arch Enemy,The Haunted,Darkest Hour,At The Gates ,Hammerfall,Opeth,Soilwork...) did the mixing.Goran Finnberg was responsible for the mastering and the finishing touch of the album.Once again the album was well recieved in the hardcore and metal scene.A European tour ( from Estonia to Spain!!) and many shows were planned to convince the world again of Chimaera's astonishing live performance.

During the summer of 2006 Chimaera decided to change their name into THE DYING because it was to similar to the American Chimaira and it confused a lot of people.Today The Dying is working hard on new songs so they can take the next step to total destruction. To be on top of the latest blurs, keep an eye on their webpage! Rock on!
