Houwitser, the well-known dutch death-metal horde, is back on track! Original members Michel (guitars) and Stan (vocals), joined forces with Ramon (bass), Richard (guitars) and Marco (drums; ex-Altar/ex-Ordo Draconis).
The music of Houwitser is still a combination of thrash, grind and death metal. Absolutely no trendy shit here, just brutal, aggressive and fast music. Ready to blow your ears off!
Houwitser originally started in 1997. Michel (ex-Sinister) and Aad (Sinister) first wrote a bunch of songs together, before completing the line-up with singer Mike (ex~Sinister) and bass-player Theo (Hail of Bullets).
After a couple of rehearsal sessions with the complete line-up they decided to record some promo songs. Houwitser recorded 6 songs on only 4 tracks in one night.
The debut CD 'Death but not buried' was released by Displeased Records in the spring of 1999 and got great reviews and good sales till now. After some extensive touring through the Benelux, Houwitser parted with their singer Mike and found an excellent replacement in Arjaan "Djortz" Kampman. Soon they recorded the second album "Embrace Damnation" and did even more gigs in the Benelux and Germany. Then Arjaan decided to leave the band, but again Houwitser found another great singer in Stan Blonk. Houwitser entered the famous Excess Studio’s in Rotterdam in the summer of 2001 to record the third album "Rage inside the womb". The album also got terrific reviews in magazines worldwide and Houwitser toured through the entire European continent during the summer of 2002.
In 2004, after the release of Houwitsers last cd "Damage assessement" the band split up. Displeased Records re-released the debut album "Death but not buried" with 7 bonus tracks and new artwork.
But the split up left a bad vibe with Michel and Stan. They decided Houwitser had to rise up from the ashes. Soon they found a second guitarist, Richard Gielen. Unfortunately Theo (Hail of Bullets) didn't have the time to join Houwitser again but another bassplayer was found quickly in Ramon Ploeg. The difficult part was finding the right drummer, but they did find the perfect Houwitser drummer, Marco de Groot, who played in other well-known Dutch metalbands like Altar, Ordo Draconis and Blind Justice.
Now, in 2009, Houwitser is back with their new promo-cd ‘Sledgehammer Redemption’.The mighty Terror Legion is back to strike again! They march the stages again to ripp off your ears with their thundering deathmetal. So watch out for Houwitser! The Terror Legion is heavier and more brutal than ever! Stay tuned for the Trip of Fire!
I CHAOS is a new deathmetal band from the Netherlands, featuring (ex-)members of Creepmime, Epica, Blo.torch and Cypher. Their unanimous desire to thrash has resulted in a concept of sheer musical brutality.
Huge sounding, low tuned metal, with a strong emphasis on groove, this is what INTERO is all about. This band from Nijmegen Rock City was founded in 2005 by members of Obeah, De Staat and Emperors. When INTERO first started their music was heavily influenced by New York Hardcore, but over time their style became more and more metal, which resulted in a sound that can be compared to bands like Pantera, Prong, Hatebreed and Machine Head, with a hint of death metal and nu metal. The subjects of the lyrics range from abhorrent activities in the western world to personal frustrations. In 2011 the latest EP of the band was released, entitled 'On A Deathgroove’. The EP was received very well by reviewers from Aardschok, Zware Metalen and Lords Of Metal.
The uprising of KhaoZ started at the end of 2008.Members from several bands joined forces and went back to the roots of Death Metal. On their path to reach the essence they picked up some other victims from the Dutch underground scene. At the beginning of 2009 the band crawled through the archives of old school Death Metal and within a month they wrote 5 songs for their upcoming mcd ....Shattered Light Insanity.... Musickly they all grew up in a time where bands like Bolt Thrower, Entombed, Death, Morbid Angel etc. reigned the upcoming Death Metal scene. So the songs, written in the veign of those masters, have the original vibe of the 90..s but the band didn..t forget to translate them to the nowadays standard.Playing in bands like Houwitser, Pleurisy, The Embodiment, Sinister and Dead Head the members of KhaoZ know how to reach their goal.At this very moment the band started the recordings at the Drum Time and Wings of Death studio..s. For the mixing and mastering KhaoZ decided to choose Harris Johns ( Kreator, Pestilence, Immolation etc.).Their first video clip will be made for the song ....Only to the Worm.... and will be produced by Funeral Productions.

With they lyrics these 5 guys from Nienburg/ Weser takes you into the vast width of the universe, so that the band is often referred to as Space Metal. With this package the band could already gain a lot of experience on stage, e.g. Burn Out Festival (Nienburg), Labor V (Hannover), Rock The Night (Osnabrück), or the Celle Rock City Festival (Celle). In the following years the quintet left the borders of Lower Saxony behind and went to Chemnitz, Dresden, Bremen and was also able to leave Germany to play in the Netherlands. During all the shows the band stands out with enormous joy of playing and action on stage, that casts its spell on the audience: “This band is pure fun to all that ever got in touvh with Metal” (OsnaMetal.de; Livereview 2006). Mortal Form is melodic thrash death five piece from Holland. Since 1999 Mortal Form released two demo`s (“Xplore” & “The End of Times”) and once recorded 10 songs for their debut “Evil Reborn” which was due to come out somewehere around 2003/2004. The only thing that actually came out was a 3-track promo for "Evil Reborn". Due to several line up changes, and the fact that songwriting deliverd Mortal Form better songs and a more authentic sound, Mortal Form decided not to release "Evil Reborn". Mortal Form continued the songwriting and took some time to search for a good and steady line up. After having found a renewed synthesis between the band members and completed writing 10 great melodic thrash death songs it was time for Mortal Form to hit the studio. Now it`s actually 2008 and the result of their hard work lies in front of you!
FACTS:
2005: Bass player Oscar and vocalist Rogier joined the band and Mortal Form started on studying songs with the new recruits. Mortal Form also spent time on writing new material. We also played a few live gigs at the end of 2005.
2006: This was a busy year for Mortal Form. They played a lot of shows this year. Mortal Form also spent lots of time in making the new songs better, more intense and fucking thrashy of course.Mortal Form started noticing that songwrtiting works best if they work on the songs as a band. Amazing things have evolved in the rehearsel room.
2007: Mortal Formworked their asses of to get 10 songs good enough for a new album. We decided to record them. But only under our circumstances. This ment two different studio`s, two different locations and two different producers and engineers. We recorded the drums for “Taste the Blood” at the Marmer Studio`s @ Didam (hol) engineerd by Martin Memelink. The guitars and the bass were recorded at the Snowstar Studio`s @ Panningen (Hol) produced by Nico van Montfoort (XPZ Sound, known from Tenement Kids, Antillectual and many others). The vocals also were recoreded ath the Marmer Studio`s. Mixing and mastering was done by Nico van Montfoort again.

Persistense, fusion of the words ‘to persist’ and ‘intense’ was founded in the year 2000 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands.
Stefan (vocals), Patrick (guitars), Conrad (guitars), Frank (bass) and Paul (drums) decided to start a band and write their own songs. Their music was firmly rooted in thrash metal with a lot of groove and later on they called it ‘swingthrash’.
Working hard resulted in playing a lot of shows as well as the release of their first EP. Six explosive songs were the result with lots of positive reviews in the press.
Due to continuing line-up struggles Persistense falls apart at the end of 2005.
New beginning
Determined to keep Persistense alive Stefan began his search for some new musicians. Almost two years and a lot of auditions and line-up changes later he finally brought together some musicians who share the same passion for making metal and willing to take Persistense to the next level.
With the new line-up the musical direction changed from ‘swingthrash’ to a more powerful, dynamic and diverse kind of metal. Influences come from different styles of metal and one of the main goals is to see a song as a song; A decent structure, meaningful lyrics and most of all, a song has to be recognizable.
With this in mind Persistense started writing new songs which resulted in the recording of the 2008 Promo.
With the new promo Persistense is ready again to climb and wreck stages all over the Netherlands.
Live
In the past six years Stefan managed to arrange more than 50 gigs for Persistense. Persistense played with Devious, Dead by Dawn, Xystus, Demia and many others.
Recently they played with Pleurisy, The Dying and Mythlorian.
They also did a small tour together with Dimension 7 in their Infinite Madness tour.
Future
Continuing playing live and writing new material Persistense is ready for the next step. With the new promo they’ll try to get some label interest for the recording of their first full length.
Main goal however, is to keep the band together, play a lot of shows and have as much fun as in the past year.
At this point, the future is looking bright for Persistense !!!
To be honest, the five guys of Rise a Thousand don’t know each other at all. Connected through dubious trajectories, obscure chatrooms en remarkable websites they have absolutely nothing in common: no house where they all live, no shared girlfriends and even no common interests. On the other hand, the five men are all exactly the same and this shelters the magic of the illustrious quintet simply in just one plain thing: making kickass rockmusic until it blackens your eyes. ‘Nobody knows who we really are,’ says bassist Pascal. ‘But put us together in a room filled with guitars or on a stage and you’ll understand immediately why this band exists’.And so, things come together and make sense.
For over five years, Rise a Thousand is a welcome guest in the scream/metalscene, regaining a solid reputation. Their catchy metal consists of strong verses on heavy, edge cutting metalriffs combined with attractive choruses and grand solid breakdowns, where singing meets screaming and grunting. This gives the band not only a pure, sincere name that pays respect to the genre, it also creates an accessibility for a broader audience. And it shows: playing live, the self-proclaimed all-blacks kick ass from the first note played. The stage transforms in a place where hectic and sheer excitement dominate, spectators rush into moshpits and single ladies throw themselves onstage, from where vocalist David looks the audience straight in their eyes, playing with them with a fierce and self esteemed grin. ‘It is actually really simple: just give everything you got and the audience follows by itself,’ he says.
The attitude of spurity has put Rise a Thousand at festivals like The Powerfest (with Ignite, Shelter, Darkest Hour) and as a support act for Poison The Well (USA), Silverstein (Canada), hed(P.E.) (USA), 36 Crazyfists (USA), Saosin (USA), Zebrahead (USA), The Blackout (UK) or Glamour Of The Kill (UK). Rise a Thousand just keeps blasting on. Because Rise a Thousand isn’t just these five guys. Rise a Thousand comes with a thousand. Including you.
Supreme Pain started in summer 2006 when Erwin, Aad ( vocalist of Sinister and Infinite Hate) and Robi ( from Slovenian deathmetallers Scaffold) joined forces to create death metal with the sick, fast blasting brutality of today combined with the old school feeling. After a couple of rehearsals we decided to record a promo CD titled LIFELESS SKIN AND BONES. This promo was recorded and released in December 2006.
This resulted in a deal with U.S Comatose Music owned by Steve Green ( Lust Of Decay and Atrocious Abnormality).Supreme Pain started to work on songs for the full length CD entitled CADAVER PLEASURES.During this we were joined by guitarist Bas Brussaard ( Fondlecorpse). It was the intention that he would only play a couple of solo's but it worked out so great that he became permanent member of the Supreme Pain family. The drums were recorded in Negligence Sound Studios in Slovenia and all guitars and vocals were recorded at the Garden Shed Of Horror Studio in The Netherlands.Mixing took place at the Excess Studio in The Netherlands and the mastering was done at Sound Lab Studios in the U.S.The result is crushing and mindblowing!!!! This death metal piece of brutality was released on 15th of April 2008.Pure brutal death metal sickness is unleashed.A few months after the release drummer Robert Kovacic was replaced by Toep Duin ( Putrefied,Blastcorps and many more),Robi did not commit himself to the supreme brutality so replacement was the only option. And Tadej Cholewa ( Scaffold) became the bass player.
Recently Supreme Pain signed a contract with Metal Age Productions from Slovakia to release the second full length CD.We have just finished recordings at The Soundlodge Studio in Germany with producer Jorg Uken ( Sinister, Dew-Scented, God Dethroned) for the second full length CD : NEMESIS ENFORCER,
Expect brutal sick blasting death metal with the old school groove!!!!
